Rise and Shrug

Required Equipment

  • Firm surface

Starting Position

  • Standing in an upright posture, feet about shoulder width apart.

Procedure

  • Rise up on your toes while shrugging your shoulders at the same time.

Coaching Keys

  • This might feel like you were at the very “top” of lifting something heavier just a “little bit higher”. Think rise up on your toes and shrug the shoulders, “Rise and shrug.”

How It Should Feel

  • With time the movement can become more fluid giving the mover a rhythmic type motion on this move.  Light weights or cans in your hands make this more challenging!
