ACL Injury Prevention

An Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear or injury is common among athletes – particularly females. Strength and conditioning work, as well as proper technique, can help to prevent injuries from occurring on and off the field.

Through the ACL Injury Prevention program at Movement for Life, we assess common biomechanical issues that increase someone’s risk for an ACL injury. Once identified, we will then provide strength and mobility work to address any limitations. We continue to follow up with patients down the road to reassess and ensure the issues have been resolved.

The ACL Injury Prevention program consists of three components:

  1. Movement screen to test biomechanical issues as it relates to sport

  2. Strength & mobility work at home

  3. Follow-up assessment with your physical therapist
